Shamanicdrumacademy is part of NatuurlijkZijn V.O.F. of Ans and Gerard Portheine. Having met each other during a part-time SPW training, we decided to set up our own practice after working in the healthcare sector for a while. Through various circumstances we have been working on our own personal development for over 35 years, each in his own field. The life experience we have built up and in addition to the necessary additional training, we both own a well running practice in which we both work. Both in collaboration and each in his / her own way and expertise. Together we have been giving workshops since the beginning, which over the years have developed into a unique and profound way to build your own drum. As well as a three-day trauma processing intensive – Interactive Soul Resonance – which focuses on the autonomy of the participants and increasing it.

Gerard after 13 years as a leading drum builder has chosen to slow down. Since he found it a pity that his with love and passion developed drum would be lost some new drum builders continued it. At the moment he guides people in their personal development in a sober and empathic way. After his 2001 trip to the Sioux Territory in North America, he took the use of rituals seriously after conversations he had with First Nations. After hearing their anger, he decided to give the rituals his own meaning and not copy the rituals of a people from whom practically everything has been taken away, even their identity, rituals and language. In it he shines his light on the use of the drum in the coming intuitive age from the ancient traditions. In personal consultations, he focuses on the client’s autonomy and needs, encourages the development of self-insight and self-reflection.

Ans stands beside Gerard and supports him in the Practice where it is needed. She is there for those in process and with her gentleness and understanding she provides a safe bed. In addition, in the three-day trauma processing intensive, she guides clients in their research question alongside Gerard. You can also contact her for a personal consultation. In this she works both coaching and mediumistic which is mainly based on the here and now, about the process one is in now and what one can do about it oneself. She oversees processes that are going on in the present moment and with her gift she will give a pure representation of what is advised by the spirit world.
